Shut your ears

Pace.

It's a very personal thing.

For some, my pace would feel dangerously fast. For others - slow as hell.

If you're building something - anything - don't listen too much to advice about how quickly you should execute. There are always nuances nobody but you understands. I might be moving relatively slowly because I'm still learning. Or relatively fast because the current thing doesn't matter much in my context. Outsiders can't see those subtleties.

Creative people should be extra careful with advice in general, because advice has one dangerous characteristic:

It can destroy your connection to your own inner wisdom.

You'll lose focus. Your creative juices will dry up. You'll start doubting yourself and your vision. You'll begin looking for external validation and approval - which is one of the worst things that can happen to a creative person.

What you should do instead is keep your eyes on the prize and shut your ears until you deliver.

It'll be tough.

But it'll be worth it.
